A new platinum model of a famous classic car worth over £50,000 has been launched by a Japanese jeweller.

Tomica, a line of die-cast toy vehicles, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and to celebrate, Ginza Tanaka has produced a version of the Nissan Fairlady Z 432.

The car was one of six original models to be sold by Tomica in 1970 and the 100 per cent platinum recreation has opening doors and wheels that are capable of spinning.

"It just so happens that the Z car celebrated its 40th anniversary towards the end of last year so it was an easy and obvious choice for Ginza Tanaka and Tomica," noted 7tune.com.

"To make the model even more unique, Ginza Tanaka have also reproduced the box in platinum too."

The website noted that Ginza Tanaka has also produced a platinum fixed Gandam figure and celebrated the 30th anniversary of Hello Kitty by crafting a platinum model.

Anyone interested in seeing the Nissan car should head to Osaka's ATC Hall, where it will be on display as part of the Tomica Fair between 23rd April and 5th May.
